Today is National Boss's Day. Most of the emphasis, most of the time seems to be on bad bosses. Today's a good day to remember the good ones.
I'm sure you've had at least one. I ask participants in my supervisory skills programs to remember a time when it was fun to come to work. Almost everyone, over more than thirty years, has at least one of those times.
What made it good? The boss is always one of the factors. Great bosses lead teams with high productivity and high morale.
So today, if you've got a good boss, take a moment to thank him or her.
If you've had a good boss in the past, call or email that boss and say "thank you."
Bosses make a difference. Great bosses make a great difference. Remember the great ones today.
