If you're a boss, you know that every day is a challenge to do better. This tip is based on the same research I used to develop my programs and the Working Supervisor's Support Kit .

Use checklists.

Simple checklists can give you a big boost in performance without an increase in either ability or team size. They'll help you get routine things done routinely and free up your mind to concentrate on more important things.

Set up simple checklists for the routine things you do at the start and end of the day or events that occur on a regular basis. Set up others for your important processes. Encourage team members to use checklists. Use them as part of training and coaching.
