Look outside for results.

You spend most of your time dealing with your team and your team members. That's good and it's necessary. You probably have several internal measures of activity and even results. BUT … the important results are outside the team. They're what you deliver for customers or your boss or other teams.

To see those results you have to look for them. It's easy and comfortable and important to look inside, but you have to look outside, too. Make it a habit to look outside your team at the results you're delivering. Those are the results that really matter.
