If you're a boss, you know that every day is a challenge to do better. This tip is based on the same research I used to develop my programs and the Working Supervisor's Support Kit .

Capture your team's ideas

Everyone gets ideas, but they slip away quietly unless you capture them. Capture your team members' ideas, especially the ones that happen during the day. Have an idea file on the network or an idea board in the office or an idea bin where people can place ideas. Don't let those good ideas get away! They're where innovation starts.

If you find these tips helpful, you should consider purchasing my Working Supervisor's Support Kit.

Wally's Working Supervisor's Support Kit is a collection of information and tools to help working supervisors do a better job. It's based on what Wally's learned in over twenty years of supervisory skills training. Click here to check it out.

top notch suggestion. Way too often these idea gems slip away. could be beneficial to maintain a computer journal for reference and for easy sharing in the future.

I've seen a computer journal work well for people who are all on the same network. It works less well in other situations. My hope is to see more systems where a voice comment can be shared and transcribed. I think the future is bright on this one.
