Contact
Being a boss is a contact sport. You and your team don't win unless you make a lot of contact. So touch base a lot.
When you touch base a lot, team members expect you to be around. When you touch base a lot, you learn about your team members so you can make better judgments and decisions. When you touch base a lot you can have lots of conversations, which is how you grow relationships.

If you have a copy of the Working Supervisor's Support Kit , you'll find more on this in the chapters titled "Some Basic Principles."
If you're wondering how to master the world of social media, check out Becky Robinson's tips for ways to get better results from your social media investment in 12 minutes or less. Becky is my personal go-to source for ideas on how to use social media more effectively.
